With that said, congrats to Billy Brake with his second consecutive win!  Plant Synchro is clearly still a very competitive deck.  You can easily find his deck online, and youtube.  He strayed very little from his previous build in Toronto.  Taking into consideration the hype behind Dark World, as well as the still powerful Agents, he tweaked his deck accordingly..

Effect Veiler has very little effect against Dark World.  The main targets one would veil will most likely be a Tour Guide, or Fabled Raven.  Main decking only one Veiler allowed more room in the main, while minimizing it as a dead draw against Dark World first round.  Brake did, however, max on Max C.  This is a very powerful tech choice in this particular YCS.  If you take into consideration the more popular decks one would expect to see at such a high level of competition: Agents, Plant Synchro, Dark World, you will realize one could truly benefit with Max C main decked to gain advantage from an opponents special summoning and/or even prevent the opponent from doing so!  Imagine a typical Venus play.. Summon 2nd Shine Ball, chain Max C and draw 1.  Your opponent now has to consider going for Gachi Gachi, or even synchroing (depending if the opponent is running TG/Birdman) just so you can't gain as many pluses as you can!

Brake also opted to remove Call of the Haunted, and play a 2nd Caius.  Removing cards from play is a very powerful effect, adding another dark target in his grave for Envoy, at the same time as taking away a dark or possible threat/defense from the opponents field.

Billy Brake deserves this second win, with nearly the same deck no less..  This dude has been playing since he was 12 and can truly be called a champ.  Congrats bro!
